Italian Marble

Naked he stands, strong and handsome
Ready for the task at hand
Slingshot over his shoulder
Only a shephard youth

Immortalized in marble
The original and four copies
The first in its own temple
One in the old palace square

Another on a hill overlooking Florence
Michelangelo's contribution to history
An awesome figure in stone
Tribute to an often humble king
